About Me

I grew up on a farm in North Alabama on land that my grandfather homesteaded in 1884. My family was poor but rich in so many ways that mattered. We had music, laughter, inspiring wide vistas, the freedom to roam and wonderful food to eat.

One of the things I enjoyed most was eating at my family's dinner table. My mom was a very good cook and the food and conversations were always great. When company came, our meals would sometimes last for hours.

In my own home, gathering around the dinner table continues to be a special time.
